Despite the strikes, signal failures and delays, the London Underground has its loyal fanbase.

After all, hundreds of train enthusiasts queued in May last year as the new £18.9 billion Elizabeth Line finally opened.

So, it is no surprise a new, more futuristic model that is expected to be in service on the Piccadilly line in 2025 has been papped.

The ‘New Tube for London’ (NTFL) trans are being built by Siemens Mobility at its facilities in Vienna, Austria, and Goole, Yorkshire.

Pictures of the sleek carriages, complete with TfL roundel and red, white and blue livery, have been leaked on Twitter.

‘It is not every day that you see a Tube train rolling through St Pölten Hbf, Austria,’student Jonas Gaiswinkler tweeted.

Famous trainspotter Tim Dunn also shared snaps pf the swanky trains in Germany.

‘Excitingly, pics of TfL’s new tube train for Piccadilly appeared on Reddit tonight,’ he wrote.

‘Note walk-thru articulated (& wider, cos shorter) cars to increase capacity. Aircon will use much space below. Due in service 2025.’
